A-Line Staffing Solutions is seeking an experienced American Sign Language (ASL) Medical Interpreter to support patient communication at a Providence, Rhode Island clinic. The role requires fluent ASL and English, knowledge of medical terminology, and a patient-centered approach to ensure accurate clinical conversations during appointments, exams, and education sessions.

This onsite, PRN/part-time position offers about 3 days per week with potential for additional hours.

Qualifications

• Fluency in ASL and English required.
• Minimum 2 years of ASL interpreting experience, healthcare setting preferred.
• Completion of an accredited Interpreter Training Program.
• Working knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare procedures.
• Understanding of HIPAA and patient confidentiality.
• Ability to work independently in a healthcare environment.

Responsabilités

• Provide accurate ASL interpretation between patients and clinicians.
• Interpret medical discussions involving exams, diagnoses, medications, and care plans.
• Facilitate communication during appointments, health assessments, and education sessions.
• Convey information completely while preserving original meaning and tone.
• Maintain HIPAA confidentiality and professional boundaries.
• Collaborate with clinical teams to support patient care.
