Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in American Sign Language.
  • Previous experience as a Language Facilitator.
  • Experience with students who have language deprivation.
  • Ability to read and comprehend written program plans and class instructions.
  • Must maintain required trainings and certifications and provide documentation.
  • Must be able to lift 30 pounds and attend regularly.
  • Must be present at the designated job site daily.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with teachers to meet student needs.
  • Monitors comprehension and reinforces instruction/behavior as directed.
  • Explains vocabulary, reinforces instruction, and supports classroom communication.
  • Assists with duties that support the classroom environment without hindering language facilitation.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the SJCSISD Administration.
