Job summary

The University of Mississippi invites applications for an American Sign Language/Interpreting Instructor. This nine-month, non-tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Instructor requires a master's degree in ASL instruction, interpreting, Deaf Studies, or related field.

Preference given to native or near-native ASL proficiency and to candidates with postsecondary teaching, interpreting, and certification experience.

Qualifications

• Master's degree required in ASL instruction, interpreting, Deaf Studies, or related field.
• Preference for native or near-native ASL proficiency.
• Experience teaching, especially at the postsecondary level, interpreting, and relevant certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teach courses in the ASL Interpreting Minor program at Ole Miss.
• Teach undergraduate ASL courses and prepare students to communicate with ASL users.
• Contribute to curriculum development, advise and mentor students, and participate in service.
