Job summary

Classifieds24.org is seeking a part-time ASL Interpreter for on-site work in the Financial District. The role supports day-to-day conversations and meetings, with potential to assist in training sessions and related activities. Flexibility for virtual and in-person events is preferred.

Candidates should have 2 years of full-time ASL interpreting experience and RID or NAD certification. Knowledge of SEE and PSE, and strong ASL communication (including TDD and written) are valued.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Interpret conversations between bank employees during day-to-day interactions and meetings.
• Attend meetings and training sessions as required.

ASL Interpreter - education / teaching - job employment

Our client, an international banking institutuion located in the Financial District is seeking a part time experienced ASL Interpreter

We’re looking for interpreters who can come on site with a commitment of at least 2 to 4 hours per month, which would include participation in training sessions and other related activities. These interpreters may be asked to support both virtual and in-person events, so flexibility in this regard would be ideal.

• Must have- 2 years of full-time paid experience as an ASL interpreter
• Certification as an American Sign Language Interpreter by either the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf or the National Association of the Deaf
• Knowledge of SEE (signing exact English) and PSE (pidgin sign English: mixture of ASL grammar and English)
• Ability to communicate effectively: ASL, TDD, verbally and in writing

The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for providing effective interpreting of conversations between banking institution employees during day to day interactions and during meetings and one on ones. Although non-essential, fluency with financial services terminology is preferred.
