Job summary

Hirepros.pro, on behalf of an international banking institution in the Financial District of New York, is seeking a part-time ASL interpreter to support both on-site and virtual events. Commitment of 2 to 4 hours per month, with participation in training sessions and related activities.

Our client, an international banking institutuion located in the Financial District is seeking a part time experienced ASL Interpreter

We’re looking for interpreters who can come on site with a commitment of at least 2 to 4 hours per month, which would include participation in training sessions and other related activities. These interpreters may be asked to support both virtual and in-person events, so flexibility in this regard would be ideal.

• Must have- 2 years of full-time paid experience as an ASL interpreter
• Certification as an American Sign Language Interpreter by either the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf or the National Association of the Deaf
• Knowledge of SEE (signing exact English) and PSE (pidgin sign English: mixture of ASL grammar and English)
• Ability to communicate effectively: ASL, TDD, verbally and in writing

The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for providing effective interpreting of conversations between banking institution employees during day to day interactions and during meetings and one on ones. Although non-essential, fluency with financial services terminology is preferred.
