Job summary

Impact NW is seeking an experienced ASL Interpreter for the Creston SUN program in Portland, OR. The position is seasonal, up to 12 hours per week, with an hourly wage of $24–$25 and nonexempt status. The role supports communication between hearing and deaf students in after-school settings.

Qualifications include ASL and English fluency, and either an EIPA 3.5+ score or RID NIC/CI/CT certification. Preferred is a bachelor’s or associate degree from an interpreter education program.

Responsibilities

• Interpret in extended day situations and various service areas.

• Facilitate visual accessibility and orient staff on interpreter roles.
• Serve as cultural mediator between Deaf and hearing communities.
• Collaborate with colleagues across environments.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
