Job summary

Minnetonka Public School Service Center seeks an Educational Interpreter for ASL/SEE to facilitate communication for deaf/hard of hearing students in educational settings. The interpreter collaborates with the educational team to support student learning and participates in IEP-related activities.

Responsibilities include interpreting in classrooms and meetings, preparing notes and media previews, and maintaining interpreter skills through professional development and mentoring sessions.

Qualifications

• Must hold RID certification or NAD level 3 or EIPA 4.0.
• High School diploma required; Highly Qualified status.
• Experience interpreting in educational settings with deaf/hard of hearing.
• Knowledge of ASL, SEE, PSE, and related signing modes.
• Training from a state-accredited educational institution preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interprets spoken English into sign language throughout the school day.
• Previews video, PowerPoint and other media for interpreting needs.
• Interprets at student orientation sessions and IEP meetings as needed.
• Meets with Deaf/Hard of Hearing teacher and case managers on progress.
• Attends staff development and mentoring sessions; performs other duties.
