Job summary

Princeton Staffing Solutions is seeking an Educational Interpreter (ASL) for a public school district in Franklin, TN. This in-person role supports K-12 students using ASL interpretation and voice for the student when needed, within a school-based setting.

Requirements include fluency in ASL and current school-based experience as an Educational Interpreter. The position offers a W2 contract, with options for local or travel assignments and full participation in on-site student support services.

Qualifications

• Fluency in American Sign Language required for interpreting and communication with the student and staff.
• Current school-based experience as an Educational Interpreter supporting Deaf and Hard of Hearing students is required.
• Strong signing and voicing skills to facilitate access and communication in a school setting.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate fluency in American Sign Language to interpret and communicate effectively with the student and staff.
• Interpret sign language for deaf students and voice for the student when needed.
• Facilitate communication and educational access for deaf and hard of hearing student(s).
• Perform non-instructional signing activities; convert voice to sign language and vice versa.
• Provide specially designed instruction as needed.
• Execute accurate, timely, impartial, and effective signing with strong receptive skills.
• Apply interpreting principles and techniques in a school setting.
• Utilize educational interpreting vocabulary and concepts in a school setting.
