Job summary

CBS Therapy is seeking an ASL Educational Interpreter for a school-based placement for the 2026-27 school year in Tennessee. This role supports deaf and hard-of-hearing students by providing accurate sign language interpretation of instructional content and meetings.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s Degree, a Tennessee State School Educational Interpreter License, relevant experience, and strong proficiency in ASL and Signed English with knowledge of Deaf Culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution of higher education.
• Valid State of Tennessee School Educational Interpreter License.
• Job-related experience within the specialized field.
• Strong proficiency in ASL and Signed English with knowledge of Deaf Culture.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate communication between deaf and hard-of-hearing students and others by using sign language to convey teacher instruction and intent.
• Assist deaf and hard-of-hearing students in both academic and nonacademic activities, including classroom instruction, tests, recess, and special events.
• Implement instructional and behavioral programs under the supervision of an assigned teacher to promote student success.
• Interpret at various meetings as requested, including IEPs and individual parent-teacher conferences.
• Prepare for daily classroom lectures and activities ahead of time to ensure a clear understanding and precise interpretation.

Successful candidates will have:

• Strong proficiency in manual communication skills (ASL and Signed English) and knowledge of Deaf Culture
