You will handle field support, site preparations, and logistics, learning measurement tasks and safety procedures while gaining hands-on experience in a specialized building systems environment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Site Preparation: Tape HVAC grilles, seal duct openings, set up ladders, carry equipment.
• Field Support: Hold measuring tools, pass instruments, place temporary markers, log photo locations under supervision.
• Logistics & Cleaning: Load/unload testing gear, organize tools in the vehicle, leave jobsite clean.
• Safety: Follow basic jobsite safety rules, wear PPE, stay focused in active buildings.

Position Title: HVAC Data Gathering Assistant

Employment Type: Part-Time

Location: Firm Headquarters base, with frequent regional travel

Compensation: $18.00 – $22.00 / hour + Paid Travel Time + Daily Tax-Free IRS Per Diem

Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated, reliable Field Assistant to support our Senior Forensic Specialist on site during mechanical system evaluations. No prior HVAC or technical testing experience is required.

This is a hands-on, entry-level position focused on jobsite logistics, basic manual tasks, and physical setup. It is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, frequent travel, and working alongside a senior professional in a specialized field.

Key Responsibilities

• Site Preparation: Tape HVAC grilles, seal duct openings, set up ladders, and carry equipment into job sites.
• Field Support: Assist the lead specialist by holding measuring tools, passing instruments, placing temporary markers, and logging photo locations under direct supervision.
• Logistics & Cleaning: Load/unload testing gear, organize tools in the vehicle, and ensure the jobsite is left clean and orderly.
• Safety: Follow basic jobsite safety rules, wear required PPE, and maintain focus in active commercial buildings and construction environments.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Experience: None required. We will train you on site preparation and safety procedures.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders, stand for extended periods, and work in cramped utility areas with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Travel Willingness: Must be comfortable traveling frequently and staying overnight near jobsites.
• General Skills: High reliability, ability to follow direct instructions, possess a valid driver's license, and professional conduct around building owners and clients.
• Employment Eligibility: Must be authorized to work in the United States. Applicants must be willing to undergo a background check, in accordance with local laws and regulations.
