Job summary

Broadcom, Inc. in Fort Collins is seeking an ASIC Design Automation Engineer to define, develop and support design automation tools for ASIC development. You will automate tool flows, debug issues, and partner with EDA vendors to improve performance and reliability.

The role requires strong scripting and programming skills (Python, Tcl, C/C++), plus digital logic and Verilog HDL knowledge. Excellent communication and problem‑solving are essential.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in scripting languages (Perl/Python/Ruby/Tcl) in UNIX/Linux environments.
• Strong Digital Logic design and Verilog HDL understanding.
• Solid knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and OO design concepts.
• Experience with Static Timing Analysis and power delivery verification.

Responsibilities

• Using Bash, Python, Ruby, or TCL scripting to automate design tool processes.
• Development of complex tools in languages such as C++.
• Debugging tool and design flow related issues for IC designers.
• Providing support/training on tools and methodologies to engineers at multiple geographies.
• Working directly with EDA vendors to resolve tool issues.
• Applying hardware/software skills to create innovative solutions.
• Developing documentation and training on custom flows and internal tools.
