Job summary

Morningstar is seeking an experienced Investment Research Analyst in the United States to research and critically assess Asia-based fund managers and their products. You will lead fund manager interviews and craft reader-friendly rating notes and reports, shaping opinions on investment strategies for internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of financial industry experience, preferably fund manager due diligence.
• Solid understanding of Asia-based investment managers across equities, fixed income, multi-asset.
• Excellent English; Chinese skills viewed favorably.

Responsibilities

• Research and critically assess Asia-focused fund managers and products.
• Lead fund manager interviews and write concise rating notes.
• Formulate and justify opinions on investment strategies for stakeholders.
• Contribute to regional thought leadership to strengthen Morningstar’s brand.
• Shape Morningstar methodologies.
• Handle ad-hoc analytical assignments on investments and funds.
• Undertake other administrative/research work as required.
