Job summary

Morningstar is seeking a Manager Research Analyst in our Chicago office to conduct independent research on funds and other investment vehicles. You will develop clear opinions to support forward-looking ratings and engage with institutional clients to discuss insights and reports.

In this role, you will research and rate funds and investment vehicles, including 529 plans and model portfolios, while expanding broader investment expertise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; graduate degree and/or CFA preferred.
• Investing passion and ability to help investors make better decisions.
• Excellent analytical, writing, and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop opinions to support forward-looking fund ratings based on management, strategy, performance and expenses.
• Conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis using databases and regulatory information.
• Interview portfolio managers and lead on-site due diligence with asset-management firms.
• Author and edit analytical research reports and industry studies.
• Represent Morningstar to media, conferences, and regulators.
