Delta College is seeking a full-time tenure-track faculty member in the Business & Technology Discipline to teach automotive and GM/ASEP courses across day, evening, and online formats at Downtown Centers and partner sites. Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in automotive service is required.
• 4000 hours of on-the-job automotive technician work experience (required for bachelor or associate degrees).
• ASE A1, A6, A8 Certification.
• ASE G-1 certification within 90 days of employment.
• ASE Master Certification within 12 months of hire.
• ASE L-1 certification within 12 months of employment.
• Obtain Bachelor’s degree within 5 years of employment.
• GM STS 100% in areas taught within 90 days of hire.
• Demonstrated ongoing professional growth.
• Flexibility with teaching times of classes (days and/or evenings).

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate teaching effectiveness to support student learning.
• Work in diverse settings to promote quality learning.
• Maintain professional development to stay current.
• Possess effective verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
• Teach Automotive and GM/ASEP courses.
• Prepare, teach and evaluate instructional courses (classroom and lab).
• Update course syllabi to reflect changes.
• Advise students regarding policies and performance.
• Provide curriculum insight for continuous improvement.
• Serve as liaison between program faculty and leadership.
• Attend program advisory committee meetings.
• Develop supplemental teaching materials.
• Create and update course information and grades.
• Implement new teaching strategies as appropriate.
• Evaluate textbooks for relevancy and currency.
