Job summary

VIP, Inc. is seeking a Flat Rate Technician in Waterville, ME. The role focuses on diagnosing automotive systems, repairing and replacing parts, and ensuring services are completed right the first time.

You will follow VIP safety, loss prevention, and customer service programs while maintaining vehicle records and service orders. Responsibilities include safety leadership, diagnosing multiple systems, completing work orders, obtaining parts, conducting tests, and maintaining a clean, organized

Qualifications

• One year of related experience in automotive service.
• Two-year college or technical school program recommended.
• ASE G1, A4 certifications recommended; valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure workplace safety is Priority #1, follow safety policies and training.
• Provide automotive systems diagnosis, repair, and maintenance per ASE standards.
• Initiate a Service Work Order before service and display it with the vehicle.
• Complete MPI before service and support the 5-for-5 Customer Engagement Process.
• Complete and return Service Work Order printouts and keys to Service Desk.
• Obtain needed parts from Desk Team and return unused parts.
• Return cores, batteries and used tires to designated areas.
• Maintain a minimum 16-week average productivity.
• Follow VIP quality service policies and train accordingly.
• Complete LMS and safety training; obtain required ASE certifications as directed.
• Conduct road tests after service to ensure safety and quality.
• Secure and lock vehicles, maintain a clean workspace and equipment.
• Participate in safety, housekeeping, and daily shop maintenance programs.
• Comply with all regulations and VIP code of ethics.
