Job summary

VIP Tires & Service is seeking an ASE Technician in Presque Isle, ME. The role requires diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining automotive systems, tires, and related components while adhering to VIP safety and service standards.

The technician will work under the Service Manager, participate in safety training, and pursue ASE certification (G1, A4, A5 or four A-series). The position uses a non-exempt, hourly schedule and standard 40-hour work week.

Qualifications

• Read, analyze, and interpret technical instructions, journal and procedures, or governmental regulations.
• Effectively explain vehicle information to customers, present and respond to questions from coworkers.
• Diagnose and recommend solutions to basic automotive problems.
• Interpret, understand, and apply instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Ability to successfully perform required types of automotive services listed above.

Responsibilities

• 1. Maintain workplace safety as Priority #1 and follow safety policies.
• 2. Provide automotive diagnosis, repair, and maintenance services for customers, covering ASE areas A1–A8.
• 3. Initiate a valid Service Work Order prior to service and display it with the vehicle.
• 4. Complete MPI prior to service and support the 5-for-5 Customer Engagement Process.
• 5. Complete and return all required paperwork to the Service Desk upon service completion.
• 6. Obtain needed parts from Desk Team and return unused parts.
• 7. Return cores, batteries and used tires to designated areas.
• 8. Maintain a minimum 16-week productivity average by role.
• 9. Follow VIP quality service policies and complete required training.
