Job summary

Avis Budget Group in Windsor Locks, CT is hiring an Automotive Mechanic (B Tech) to perform essential repairs and routine maintenance on a diverse fleet of newer vehicles. You will work with minimal supervision and may assist senior technicians on more complex diagnostics to keep vehicles safe and available for customers.

The role requires a valid driver's license, 2 years of auto repair experience or automotive coursework with ASE certifications, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record.
• Minimum 2 years of professional auto repair experience or automotive coursework with certifications.
• At least 1 ASE certification, with potential to earn 2 more within the first year.
• Experience with ASE areas: engine repair, drivetrain/axles, suspension/steering, brakes, electrical, HVAC, etc.
• Must have a complete set of tools for automotive repair and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Perform essential mechanical repairs and maintenance on newer vehicles.
• Handle oil and fluid services, tire repairs, brakes, suspension, and routine maintenance.
• Assist senior technicians with more complex diagnostics and repairs.
• Ensure vehicle reliability and safety to minimize downtime and keep vehicles customer-ready.
