Description

A.T. Still University's Arizona School of Dentistry & Oral Health (ATSU-ASDOH) is seeking applications for a full-time, non-exempt Sterilization/Dental Assistant position on the Mesa, Arizona campus.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Complete all equipment sterilization on a daily basis.
• Maintain dental equipment inventory and supply control system as needed.
• Dispense and receive dental instruments to/from faculty, staff, and students.
• Deliver and pick up sterilization carts from the Comprehensive Care Units.
• Practice proper PPE safety consistently.
• Perform general administrative duties as assigned.
• Assist students and faculty while treating live patients.
• Ensure the dental unit is stocked with supplies as determined by the Dental Assistant Supervisor and/or CCU Director.
• Maintain suction lines, traps, and DUWL.
• Conduct inventory, weekly spore tests, and other sterilization duties as assigned.
• Participate in ASDOH Dental Clinic and patient treatment activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills & Experience

• Dental Assistant and X-ray Certification required.
• 6-12 months of chair-side assisting experience with live patients.
• Infection Control, HIPAA, and CPR training are required.
• Experience with Axium or Dentrix preferred.
• Knowledge of Steam autoclaves, dishwashers, handpiece maintenance systems, ultrasonic cleaners.
• Basic computer skills.
• Effective communication skills (verbal, written, and phone).
• Flexible, organized, and able to adapt to changing assignments.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Maintain a professional attitude at all times.
