Description

A.T. Still University's Arizona School of Dentistry & Oral Health (ATSU-ASDOH) is seeking a full-time non-exempt Dental Assistant on the Mesa, Arizona campus.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Assist students and/or faculty chairside.
• Maintain supply levels.
• Maintain organization and cleanliness of operatories.
• Maintain suction Lines and DUWL.
• Participate in weekly meetings with students.
• Responsible for clinic department closure, including transporting instruments to sterilization, shutting down computers/monitors, closing vertical blinds, turning N2O off, organizing operatories, etc., as assigned/necessary.
• Participate in staff meetings and other departmental meetings.
• Provide feedback on supply usage and potential cost-saving measures.
• Attend continuing education courses.
• Maintain current CPR certification.
• Process biopsies (Oral/Perio Surgery).

Requirements

• CPR and X-Ray certification required.
• 2-3 years of dental assisting experience preferred; CDA certification is a plus.
• At least one year of experience with electronic health records software.
• Knowledge of OSHA standards, aseptic procedures, HIPAA regulations, sterilization, infection control, and all dental procedures and supplies.
• Professional appearance with strong communication, facilitation, and organizational skills.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing assignments with minimal guidance.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
