Job description

Description

A.T. Still University's Arizona School of Dentistry & Oral Health (ATSU-ASDOH) is seeking applications for a full-time non-exempt Sterilization/Dental Assistant on the Mesa, Arizona campus.

Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Complete all equipment sterilization on a daily basis.
2. Maintain dental equipment inventory and supply control system as needed.
3. Dispense and receive dental instruments to/from faculty, staff, and students.
4. Deliver and pick up sterilization carts from the Comprehensive Care Units.
5. Practice proper PPE safety consistently.
6. General administrative duties as assigned.
7. Assisting students and faculty while treating live patients.
8. Ensuring the dental unit is stocked with supplies as determined by the Dental Assistant Supervisor and/or CCU Director.
9. Maintain suction lines, traps, and DUWL.
10. Inventory, Weekly Spore Tests, and any other sterilization duties as assigned.
11. ASDOH Dental Clinic and patient treatment.
12. Other Duties as Assigned.

Skills & Experience:

1. Dental Assistant and X-ray Certificate required.
2. 6-12 Months of experience chair-side assisting live patients.
3. Infection Control, HIPAA, and CPR training are required.
4. Axium or Dentrix experience preferred.
5. Experience with Steam autoclaves, Dishwashers, Handpiece maintenance system, Ultrasonic cleaner.
6. Basic computer skills.
7. Effective communication skills (verbal, written, and phone).
8. Must be flexible and organized, able to change assignments with little direction.
9. Must work well independently and in a group environment.
10. Must maintain a professional attitude at all times.
