Description

A.T. Still University's Arizona School of Dentistry & Oral Health (ATSU-ASDOH) is seeking a full-time Assistant / Associate Professor in Special Care Dentistry on the Mesa, Arizona campus.

Duties & Responsibilities :

1. General - Conduct teaching, scholarship, service, and patient care in support of the mission and goals of ASDOH and ATSU. Promote an atmosphere of respect, collegiality, commitment to diversity and social justice, and a humanistic learning environment.
2. Teaching - Collaborate with the Director of Special Care Dentistry and other faculty and administrators to provide clinical supervision and didactic instruction to predoctoral students and AEGD residents in general dentistry for special needs patients. This includes integrating biomedical, behavioral, and clinical sciences, and supporting lectures, seminars, and other instructional activities.
3. Patient Care and Treatment - Provide direct patient care in the Advanced Care Clinic (ACC) that supports community service, efficient clinic operations, student/resident education, or when in the best interest of the patient.
4. Administration - Assist with administrative responsibilities of the Special Care Clinic as assigned by the Director of Special Care Dentistry, ensuring alignment with program goals, accreditation standards, and regulatory compliance.
5. Service - Participate in committees, faculty governance, professional societies, community events, and Continuing Education (CE) provision.
6. Scholarship - Establish and maintain scholarly or research activities in your area of expertise, aligned with your scheduled workload.

Requirements

1. Two to three years of clinical teaching experience preferred, including GPR or AEGD, with advanced training in special care.
2. Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to deliver clear, concise directions and leadership.
3. Strong problem-solving and crisis management skills.
4. Experience in clinical dental teaching is preferred.
5. Eligibility for Arizona Dental License.
