Job summary

Grand Ledge Public Schools is seeking an ASD Elementary Teacher (Grades K-4) for Holbrook Elementary. You will develop and implement IEPs, coordinate MTSS-based instruction, and collaborate with staff, families, and community to support students with ASD.

The role requires Michigan teaching certification and an ASD endorsement (or willingness to obtain). A district-provided CPI certification may be required; a special stipend and IEP days are noted in the notes.

Qualifications

• Michigan Teacher Certification is required.
• Autism Spectrum Disorder (SV) Endorsement or willingness to obtain it.
• CPI Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Certification required or provided by district.
• Endorsements or trainings supporting ASD instruction are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide evidence-based assessment, instruction and interventions using MTSS to boost progress.
• Determine and implement a curriculum appropriate to the classroom.
• Develop and implement an IEP for each student with ASD needs.
• Plan daily instructional activities reflecting individual student needs.
• Deliver direct instruction using research-based methods.
• Collaborate with Speech, OT, PT, SSW and related services staff.
• Evaluate student progress as determined by IEP/IEPT outcomes.
• Communicate with parents and home-care providers regularly.
• Provide training to instructional aides on strategies and goals.
• Participate in professional development activities.
• Maintain regular communication with supervisor on special needs.
• Participate in staff meetings and student staffings.
• Maintain accurate attendance records for students.
• Document progress toward program outcomes and incidents.
• Complete regular progress reports on students.
• Coordinate and guide classroom instructional aides' work.
• Ensure classroom equipment and supplies are safe and maintained.
• Other duties as assigned.
