Job summary

Shakopee Public Schools is seeking a 1.0 FTE Special Education ASD Center-Based Long-Term Substitute (LTS) at Jackson Elementary School for the 2026-2027 school year.

Deliver direct and indirect special education services to students in ASD classroom, monitor IEP goals, manage paperwork, and collaborate with families and staff. Salary range applies with district benefits and ongoing teamwork.

Qualifications

• Valid MN teaching licensure in Special Education.
• Experience with multiple disabilities and ability to deliver specialized instruction.
• Preference for experience with EBD, ASD and/or OHD.
• Experience with differentiated instruction.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct and indirect special education services in ASD classroom.

Shakopee Public Schools is searching for a 1.0 FTE Special Education ASD Center-Based Long-Term Substitute (LTS) to join the amazing team at Jackson Elementary School for the 2026-2027 school year.

Job Summary

Deliver direct and indirect special education services to students in the areas of academic and social, emotional, communication and behavior skills in an ASD classroom setting, monitor progress on IEP goals and objectives; follow due process and IEP procedures and manage the paperwork; communicate effectively with families and staff; develop and implement Behavior Intervention Plans, direct the work of paraprofessional(s).

Provide instruction in content area in accordance with each student's ability, create a classroom environment that fosters student learning and personal growth. Establish effective working relationships with students and parents, works collaboratively with other staff members.

Education/Training/Experience

• Valid MN teaching licensure in Special Education; the District may consider Tier 1 or Tier 2 licensed candidates
• Experience working with a variety of disabilities, and the ability to deliver specialized instruction to meet the individual needs of these students
• Preference to experience supporting students with EBD, ASD and/or OHD
• Training for specific needs of the students in the program will be provided by the district
• Experience with multiple instructional designs and differentiated instruction

Salary can range anywhere between $52,020 to $126,971 depending upon education level and experience.
