Job summary

Penobscot Valley Hospital seeks a full-time Medical Laboratory Technician to perform blood collection and diverse laboratory testing across shifts. You will process orders in the information system, ensure quality control, and train students as needed.

Strong attention to safety and regulatory documentation is required. Applicants must hold national medical/clinical laboratory technician certification (ASCP/AMT or equivalent) and BLS.

Qualifications

• Must hold national medical/clinical laboratory technician certification (ASCP/AMT or equivalent).
• Experience with blood collection and variety of lab tests is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of quality control and regulatory documentation.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood collection procedures using techniques appropriate to the patient.
• Process specimens and orders through information system; label specimens.
• Perform instrument calibration and quality control.
