Job summary

Cleveland Clinic is seeking an ASC RN Specialty - Operating Room in Coral Springs, FL for per diem, day shift coverage. The role focuses on pre- and post-operative care, assessment, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to maintain high-quality patient care.

Ideal candidates have RN licensure, ADN/BSN training, and perioperative or critical care experience. BLS/ACLS are required, with PALS preferred. Oncology, pediatrics, or ambulatory surgery experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved school of nursing (ADN or BSN) required.
• RN license in good standing is required.
• At least 1 year of perioperative or critical care RN experience.
• OR 3 years as Surgical Technician preferred.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain courteous, cooperative relations with patients and users.
• Oversee nursing practice in the ASC, assess care needs and plan delivery of care.
• Direct other caregivers in providing patient care.
• Assume charge responsibilities and resolve problems.
• Report variances from standard practice to the Nurse Manager.
• Develop educational materials and provide health education to patients and families.
• Process patients through the ASC and monitor resources to meet outcomes.
• Participate in attaining ASC goals and ensure cost-effective practices.

About This Role

The ASC RN Specialty - Operating Room position at Cleveland Clinic involves providing care to pre- and post-op patients in a variety of ambulatory surgical cases. What You'll Do

• Establish and maintain courteous and cooperative relations with patients and other users of the ASC.
• Oversee the clinical practice of nursing in the ASC including assessing patient care needs and planning the delivery of care.
• Direct other caregivers in providing patient care.
• Assume charge responsibilities and resolve problems.
• Report variances from standard practice to the Nurse Manager.
• Develop educational material and provide health education to patients and families.
• Process patients through the ASC.
• Assess the level of personnel skills and the availability of resources to meet established patient outcomes.
• Actively participate in attaining ASC goals and mission.
• Monitor and evaluate cost-effective practices within the ASC.

Requirements

• Education:
  • Graduate of an approved school of nursing (ADN or BSN program) required
  • Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Experience:
  • One year of clinical experience as an RN in a perioperative or critical care setting required
  • OR three years of experience as a Surgical Technician
• Licenses & Certifications:
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within six months of hire required
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification preferred
