Jobot is seeking a junior-to-mid level Associate Attorney to take ownership of asbestos and toxic tort defense matters in New York, collaborating with sophisticated corporate clients on high-stakes litigation. The role demands handling discovery, motion practice, and a proven track record defending clients in complex cases.

Qualifications

• JD degree from an accredited law school.
• Admitted to practice law in the state and in good standing with the state bar.
• 2–4 years of litigation experience — general litigation, insurance defense, or product liability all considered.
• Asbestos or toxic tort defense experience is a strong plus.
• Strong writing, research, and deposition skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee all aspects of litigation, including discovery, depositions, motion practice, and trials.
• Develop and implement defense strategies for asbestos, toxic tort, product liability, and insurance defense cases.
• Draft, review, and negotiate pleadings, motions, briefs, and settlement agreements.
• Conduct legal research and analysis to determine the most effective defense strategy.
• Represent clients in court proceedings, mediations, arbitrations, and settlement negotiations.
• Collaborate with team members, clients, and opposing counsel to ensure efficient case management.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of developments in asbestos and toxic tort law.
