Tectonic is currently seeking an Asbestos Technician to support environmental and construction projects throughout the New York City metropolitan area. This position offers the opportunity to perform asbestos inspections, air monitoring, and project monitoring activities while receiving training in concrete testing and other special inspection services. Travel to project sites throughout New York City and the surrounding region to perform asbestos inspections in commercial, institutional, transportation, industrial, and residential environments. Collect bulk samples of suspect materials, prepare chain‑of‑custody documentation, coordinate laboratory analysis, conduct asbestos air monitoring, and document findings in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations. Support construction materials testing and special inspection services, including collecting material samples, performing field testing of concrete and other construction materials, monitoring construction activities, utilizing testing equipment to verify compliance with project plans and specifications, and assisting with various special inspections. Training will be provided for qualified candidates in concrete testing and other inspection disciplines. Prepare accurate field and inspection reports, maintain project documentation, communicate with project managers, contractors, clients, and regulatory representatives, and perform all other duties as assigned. Occasional evening, weekend, and travel assignments may be required.

The offered pay may be outside of the provided salary range based upon the selected candidate’s work location, experience, education, certifications, and capabilities compared to the advertised position. Pay Range: $22.00 - $27.00 / hour.
