Tectonic Engineering Consultants, Geologists & Land Surveyors, D.P.C. seeks an Asbestos Technician to support environmental and construction projects across the New York City metro area.

The role includes asbestos inspections, air monitoring, and project monitoring with training in concrete testing and other inspection disciplines. Ideal candidates will have OSHA training, relevant NY/NJ certifications, and the ability to manage field documentation and communication with clients and

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 2 years of asbestos inspection/monitoring experience preferred.
• Certifications: NYS Asbestos Inspector/Project Monitor/Air Sampling Technician or NYC/NJ equivalents preferred.
• OSHA safety training preferred; ability to obtain certifications after employment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and PDF tooling; travel across NYC metro area.

Responsibilities

• Travel to project sites across New York City and surrounding region to perform asbestos inspections in varied environments.
• Collect bulk samples and prepare chain-of-custody documentation; coordinate lab analysis.
• Conduct asbestos air monitoring and document findings per regulations.
• Support construction materials testing and other inspection services; collect samples and monitor activities.
• Prepare field and inspection reports; communicate with project managers, contractors, clients, and regulators.
• Occasional evening, weekend, and travel assignments may be required.
