Job summary

STV Incorporated is seeking an Asbestos Technician to conduct inspections, sampling, and oversight of abatement projects in mass transit, commercial, industrial, and residential settings. The role emphasizes regulatory compliance, meticulous reporting, and safety.

Qualifications include NYSDOL and OSHA certifications, knowledge of NYC/NY State and EPA/OSHA regulations, and proficiency with AutoCAD for drawings. Travel and some night/weekend work may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of asbestos inspections, designs, air sampling, and abatement monitoring for NYS/ NYC agencies.
• Thorough understanding of NYC/NY State/USEPA/OSHA requirements.
• Excellent reporting and communication skills.
• Ability to travel to project sites as needed.
• Experience with AutoCAD for asbestos survey and design drawings.

Responsibilities

• Perform asbestos inspections, surveys, and assessments in various properties using proper sampling methods.
• Collect samples, prepare chain of custody, send to lab, and interpret results for asbestos content.
• Prepare detailed reports with locations, conditions, and recommended abatement actions.
• Conduct air monitoring and project monitoring during abatement, including supervision and final clearance testing.
• Carry out periodic inspections to monitor ongoing asbestos management activities and improvements.
• Provide technical guidance to clients, contractors, and team members on asbestos matters.
