Job summary

EcoSafe Abatement LLC is seeking an Asbestos Abatement Worker to perform hands-on removal and remediation on residential, commercial, and industrial projects across Colorado, including Grand Junction.

You will work under a qualified asbestos supervisor, follow site plans, OSHA and EPA regulations, and CDPHE requirements to ensure safe, compliant, and timely project completion. Training and certification support is provided. Travel to sites statewide is required.

Qualifications

  • Completion of an applicable PA-accredited asbestos worker training course and any required Colorado/CDPHE asbestos worker certification before performing regulated abatement work.
  • Ability to maintain required training, refresher training, certification, and documentation in accordance with CDPHE requirements.
  • Six months to one year of asbestos abatement or related construction/demolition experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily asbestos abatement tasks under supervisor direction.
  • Follow OSHA standards, EPA asbestos requirements, EPA NESHAP regulations, and CDPHE requirements.
  • Comply with CDPHE asbestos regulations and related containment and waste procedures.
  • Assist with setup/teardown of containment systems and PPE.
  • Remove asbestos-containing materials using approved techniques and wet methods.
  • Operate HEPA vacuums and negative-air machines as directed.
  • Participate in respirator fit-testing and medical evaluations.
  • Follow decontamination procedures and proper waste handling.
  • Travel to project sites throughout Colorado as needed.

Position Summary

We are seeking an Asbestos Abatement Worker to perform hands‑on asbestos removal and remediation tasks on residential, commercial, and industrial projects in Grand Junction and throughout Colorado.

The Asbestos Abatement Worker performs abatement work under the direction of a qualified asbestos supervisor, following site‑specific work plans, OSHA requirements, EPA regulations, and applicable Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) requirements to ensure safe, compliant, and timely completion of projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform daily asbestos abatement tasks under supervisor direction.
  • Follow OSHA standards, EPA asbestos requirements, EPA NESHAP regulations, and applicable CDPHE requirements.
  • Comply with the Colorado Air Pollution Control Division’s asbestos regulations, including 5 CCR 1001-8, Regulation Number 8, and applicable CDPHE certification and work‑practice requirements.
  • Assist with setup and teardown of containment systems, negative‑pressure units, decontamination units, and site barricades.
  • Remove asbestos‑containing materials using approved techniques, hand tools, wet methods, and dust‑suppression procedures.
  • Operate and maintain HEPA‑filtered vacuum systems, negative‑air machines, and other abatement equipment as directed.
  • Don, use, inspect, and maintain personal protective equipment and respiratory protection in accordance with company procedures and OSHA requirements.
  • Participate in respirator fit‑testing, medical evaluation, and required respiratory‑protection activities.
  • Follow personnel and equipment decontamination procedures.
  • Properly bag, label, secure, and stage asbestos‑containing waste for transportation and disposal.
  • Assist with preparation for air monitoring and cooperate with project managers, industrial hygienists, CDPHE representatives, and third‑party monitoring personnel during inspections and sampling.
  • Participate in on‑the‑job training, toolbox talks, and safety briefings.
  • Follow project‑specific work plans, safety plans, and containment procedures.
  • Promptly report hazards, incidents, damaged containment, equipment problems, or potential releases.
  • Work cooperatively with team members, clients, supervisors, and other contractors to complete projects safely and on schedule.
  • Travel to project sites throughout Colorado as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Completion of an applicable PA-accredited asbestos worker training course and any required Colorado/CDPHE asbestos worker certification before performing regulated abatement work.
  • Ability to maintain required training, refresher training, certification, and documentation in accordance with CDPHE requirements.
  • Six months to one year of asbestos abatement or related construction/demolition experience preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of asbestos‑safe work practices, containment methods, wet techniques, decontamination procedures, and PPE use.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and maintain close attention to detail.
  • Reliable attendance and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Physically able to perform manual labor, lift moderate weights, kneel, crouch, climb, and work in confined or awkward spaces while wearing PPE and a respirator.
  • Willingness to complete respirator fit‑testing, medical evaluation, and medical surveillance as required by OSHA and company policy.
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures, dusty environments, and other challenging job‑site conditions.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior asbestos abatement experience with demonstrated competency in safe removal techniques.
  • Current Colorado/CDPHE asbestos worker certification.
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 training.
  • Training or experience in respiratory protection, lead‑safe work practices, hazardous‑waste handling, mold remediation, or related construction safety.
  • Valid driver’s license and dependable transportation.
  • Demonstrated reliability, strong work ethic, and commitment to continuous learning.
  • Ability to follow best practices and maintain a safety‑first approach.
