Job summary

EIS Holding is seeking an Asbestos Worker to safely identify, remove, and dispose of hazardous materials including asbestos. The role involves demolition work, scaffold erection, decontamination setup, and strict adherence to safety and waste handling guidelines.

Responsibilities include using PPE, manipulating disposal bags, and working under foremen and supervisors. Significant travel may be required; physical endurance and Respirator Fit Tests are essential.

Qualifications

• Asbestos Worker Initial Certification required.
• Asbestos Worker Refresher required.
• State asbestos worker license current.
• Physician's assessment current.
• Respirator fit test current.

Responsibilities

• Removes asbestos from ceilings, walls, beams, boilers, and other structures using safe demolition techniques.
• Assembles scaffolding and seals off work areas with plastic sheeting and duct tape.
• Positions mobile decontamination unit or portable showers at the work area entrance.
• Builds a connecting walkway between the unit and the work area using hand tools and materials.
• Positions air evacuation and filtration system inside the work area.
• Sprays chemical solution over asbestos surfaces to soften material.
• Cuts and scrapes asbestos from surfaces with knife and scraper.
• Shovels asbestos into disposal bags and seals with tape.
• Cleans area of loose asbestos with vacuum, broom, and dustpan.
• Places asbestos in bags, seals bags, and loads into transport.
• Dismantles scaffolding and walkway and moves disposal bags to transport bags.
• Follows directions of foremen, supervisors, and managers.

Education

High School Diploma or GED

OSHA 10 or Higher
