Job summary

Qualifications

• Three years of full-time experience as a mechanic, journeyperson or helper in the electrical, mechanical trades, or the maintenance of buildings.
• At least two years of full-time experience plus sufficient vocational training to equal three years; six months credit per year of training.
• Preferred: experience with public housing.
• Preferred: experience using wireless handheld devices to record data.
• Preferred: basic computer skills including Outlook and Excel.
• Any asbestos-related certifications and willingness to pursue further asbestos certifications such as DOL Inspector/DEP Investigator.

Responsibilities

• Remove building hardware such as sink, shower panel, kitchen base cabinet, shelving and equipment.
• Survey the apartment including make work area sketches with measurements for abatement/inspections.
• Assist in minor electrical instrument hookups.
• Prepare reports and keep records.
• Operate a motor vehicle to travel to and from work sites.
