183 days; 11.25 – 18.75 hrs/week; Extra hours on Early Release Days

Salary / Benefits

$22 – $29 per hour (based on position, education and experience); paid personal time, attendance incentive bonus

Job Goal

Under supervision of the Site Supervisor or Coordinator, provide a safe and caring environment and support instructors in leading enrichment and recreational activities for children enrolled in the Natick After School Activities Program.

Qualifications
  • High School Graduate or hold a G.E.D.

  • One year or more of experience working with youth in an organized setting.

Tools and Equipment Used
  • Phone, intercom, radios, personal computer, scanner, copy machine, calculator, camera, printers.
Essential Functions of the Job
  • Provide educational, enrichment, and recreational activities to students as directed by the Site Supervisor.
  • Contribute ideas for activities and special events; lead a minimum of one club per school year (after‑school only).
  • Observe and manage student behavior according to program procedures; report progress and concerns.
  • Provide a safe, supportive environment, maintain physical and emotional safety, support each child in developing social skills, treat all with kindness and respect.
  • Be familiar with the parents of all children in assigned group; greet families daily; follow safety procedures for authorized adults signing out children.
  • Assist with program planning and development.
  • Set up and put away equipment (outside and inside).
  • Clean activity and storage spaces; leave all areas clean and free of trash or debris.
  • Prepare and clean up after daily activities.
  • Follow all health and safety procedures; report and document injuries and incidents; be familiar with evacuation protocols.
  • Maintain a count of children in the assigned group at all times.
  • Know signs of child abuse and duties of a mandated reporter; understand bullying signs.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding program children and families.
  • Participate in staff meetings; attend training sessions as assigned.
  • Perform duties with accuracy, thoroughness, and follow‑through.
  • Any other related duties as assigned.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
  • Move about classroom, school, school grounds, office, outside, and/or off‑site locations.
  • Move quickly across even or uneven surfaces when required.
  • Remain in a stationary position for periods of time.
  • Operate computers and other office/educational equipment.
  • Read material from a computer monitor or printed matter.
  • Communicate verbally, in writing, and via video conference or telephone.
  • Ensure safety of students in the school setting.
  • Multitask and meet multiple demands from several people.
  • Teach and support students with life‑skills development such as eating, cleaning, and toileting.
  • Lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Maintain a rapid and dynamic pace with short notice or changing deadlines.
  • Accept moderate to loud noise levels.
