Job summary

Belden Universal is seeking an AS9100 Dimensional Inspection Specialist to lead first-piece, in-process, and final inspections for aerospace, defense, and industrial machinery parts. You will perform GD&T-driven checks, oversee calibration schedules, and mentor floor operators to uphold quality standards.

You will draft inspection specs, support PPAP submissions, and collaborate with Quality Manager on RCAs and RMAs to ensure sustainable fixes, in a modern, climate-controlled facility.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in quality/manufacturing within a CNC machining environment.
• Strong GD&T interpretation and reading complex drawings.
• US person as defined by ITAR regulations.

Responsibilities

• Run first-piece, in-process, and final inspections to validate parts meet blueprint/specifications.
• Perform detailed visual checks for defects, burrs, surface finish.
• Administer and calibrate the gage program; maintain traceability.

You grab your gage kit, sync with a machinist and an engineer, and together you release a critical first piece for an aerospace assembly. By mid‑morning, you’ve dialed in an in‑process check, coached a teammate on a better way to verify a bore, and captured data for a FAIR package. By afternoon, you’re closing a corrective action loop stemming from an RMA while preparing PPAP documentation for an industrial machinery customer.
