Tata Consultancy Services Limited in Dallas, TX seeks an Engineer (Technology) with 5+ years of IBM i/AS400 programming expertise. The role focuses on RPG, RPGLE, SQLRPGLE, CL, and DB2/SQL, with strong problem-solving skills and experience in ILE concepts and WMS/AS400 maintenance.

The candidate will work with business teams to gather requirements, perform root-cause analyses, and manage development lifecycles from DEV to QA to Production. On-call support may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of IBM i/AS400 programming experience.
• Experience with RPG, RPGLE, SQLRPGLE and CL.
• Knowledge of DB2/SQL relational databases.
• Experience with ILE concepts, service programs, commitment control, journaling, interactive & batch debugging.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience writing and running SQL queries against relational databases.
• ERP application knowledge is preferred.
• Experience with APIs is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Participate in maintenance responsibilities, including production monitoring and file maintenance.
• Full management of the WMS/AS400 related tasks.
• Conduct and present root cause analysis for repetitive or major issues.
• Understand business processes and IT system capabilities.
• Collaborate with SMEs and Tech Leads; support on-call duties.

Job description

Must Have Technical/Functional Skills

• *A minimum of 5 years of experience programming on IBM i/AS400
• *Experience with RPG, RPGLE, SQLRPGLE and CL.
• *Knowledge of relational database, including DB2/SQL
• *Expertise with ILE Concepts, service programs, commitment control, journaling, interactive & batch debugging.
• *Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving / troubleshooting skills
• *Experience writing and running queries against relational SQL database(s)
• *A demonstrated proficiency in business concepts of Warehouse Management System is a plus
• *Knowledge in programming and working with APIs is a plus
• *Experience in ERP application is preferred
• *Participate in maintenance responsibilities, such as production monitoring, file maintenance and full management of the WMS/AS400.
• *Conduct and present root cause analysis for repetitive issues or major issues.
• *Understand core business, operational process flows, and related IT systems capabilities.
• *Effective involvement in both Functional and Technical knowledge with Customer SMEs and Tech Leads.
• *Maintain current RPG code base for the ERP.
• *Build, present, confirm, and execute test plans; provide professional testing status updates to both internal and external customers.
• *Promote code from development and production following IT policies and procedures.
• *Collaborate with various business teams to improve efficiencies and speed of internal operations by improving process and/or system capabilities.
• *Recommend process and system enhancements based on analysis, experience.
• *Gather requirements for new initiatives, document and carry the development life cycle through from DEV - QA - Production
• *Participate in on-call support.

Salary Range: $130,000-$145,000 a year
