Job summary

Innova software Services Inc is seeking an AS400 Developer in Fountain Valley, CA for a long-term contract. The role requires 6–12 years of hands-on AS400 development experience, with strong RPG programming, DB2/400, and system integration skills.

You will design, develop, and maintain IBM i applications, write and optimize RPG programs, manage DB2/400 databases, and contribute to performance tuning and documentation.

Qualifications

• 6-12 years of hands-on AS400 development experience.
• Proficiency in RPGLE / ILE RPG / CL programming.
• DB2/400 SQL, queries and stored procedures.
• DDS (Display, Printer, Physical, Logical files).
• Experience with embedded SQL.
• Knowledge of AS400 system architecture and job control.
• Familiarity with debugging tools and performance tuning.
• Experience with version control tools and SDLC.
• Strong problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled AS400 Developer with 6-12 years of experience to design, develop, and maintain applications on the AS400 platform. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in RPG programming, DB2, and system integration, along with a solid understanding of business processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance applications on AS400 (IBM i platform)

• Write and optimize programs using RPG (RPGLE / ILE RPG / Free Format RPG)

• Design and manage DB2/400 databases, including queries and stored procedures

• Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions

• Perform unit testing, debugging, and performance tuning

• Work on system integration with external applications and APIs

• Support production systems and resolve issues in a timely manner

• Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards

• Create and maintain technical documentation

Required Skills & Qualifications
