Job summary

Air Methods is hiring a Regional Relief Pilot for the AS350 (VFR) program in Reno, NV. The role emphasizes safety, regulatory compliance, and rapid flight planning to support medical transport teams 24/7.

The candidate must meet extensive experience and certification requirements, hold a valid FAA medical certificate, and be capable of operating under demanding call schedules, with a strong focus on teamwork and community service.

Qualifications

• Associates degree (A.A.) or equivalent; two to five years’ related experience and/or training.
• Bachelors degree preferred.
• FAA medical certificate (First or Second Class) required.

Responsibilities

• Operates Air Methods aircraft in a safe and legal manner.
• Completes pre-flight checks and Daily Flight Log verification.
• Final authority with regard to operations of aircraft and safety of passengers, cargo and equipment.
• Familiarize medical interior and systems with backup aircraft at the operational area.
• Complete required documentation for each flight.
• Conduct detailed flight planning with little notice to exacting standards.
• Participate in meetings, projects, committees and community outreach.
