Job summary

Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, TX invites applications for the Student Employee—Office of the Dean, College of Arts & Media, Guest Services Student Assistant. Join a dynamic team supporting CAM events at GPAC and University Theatre, including lobby care, ushering, and box office support.

The role requires reliability, excellent customer service, and willingness to work nights and weekends during events.

Qualifications

Experience in customer service.
Comfortable with face-to-face interactions with guests.
Friendly and outgoing personality with a passion for the arts and media.
Capable of handling and working in a fast-paced event environment.

Responsibilities

Provide support for CAM events in Gaertner Performing Arts Center and University Theatre Center, including nights and weekends.
Assist house manager with lobby, restrooms and venue setup for ticketed events.
Oversee front-of-house operations to ensure audience safety and comfortable experience.
Cross-train in basic Box Office operations and assist with ticket sales, will call and patron questions.
Coordinate with Stage Manager and Box Office by radio to manage events from start to finish.
Serve as a lobby attendant and usher, greeting patrons and directing them to seats.
Potential for summer work opportunities based on needs and funding.
