Job summary

The City of Overland Park is seeking an Arts and Events Assistant (part-time) in the Parks and Recreation Services Department. The role supports coordination of special events, gallery operations, and children’s programming for the Arts and Events division.

You will assist in planning and executing events such as gallery exhibits, the July 4 celebration, Fall Festival, and concerts, and help identify grant opportunities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Associate's degree or related technical certification preferred.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license and ability to maintain an insurable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and execution of art and event programming including gallery exhibits and events such as the Summer/Fall programs.
• Required to work on July 4th.
• Assist with communications and coordination of volunteers, vendors and artists.
• Must work days/hours to perform all duties, including evenings, weekends and July 4.
• Communicate with a variety of persons and organizations to accomplish goals.
• Meet deadlines and complete tasks on time.
