Job summary

Elgin Community College seeks an exceptional leader to guide a multi-venue performing arts center. This role oversees a $1.7M instructional and auxiliary portfolio, leading artistic programming, contract negotiations, marketing strategy, and financial stewardship to ensure mission-aligned, fiscally sustainable operations.

The Senior Director also supervises faculty and staff, supports academic music programs including private lessons and ensembles, and fosters partnerships with in-residence

Qualifications

• Graduate degree in arts, nonprofit administration, business, or related field or a bachelor’s with substantial leadership experience.
• Minimum seven years of senior leadership in a nonprofit with budget/P&L responsibility and contract authority.
• Proven success in strategic planning, marketing, and achieving organizational goals.
• Experience managing diverse income streams: earned, grants, contributed income.
• Experience building internal/external partnerships to advance mission and program effectiveness.
• Knowledge of performing arts venue management including marketing, box office, CRM, and front-of-house operations.
• Familiarity with labor requirements and collective bargaining agreements.

• Lead artistic programming, contract negotiations, marketing strategy, and financial stewardship.
• Supervise faculty and staff and foster partnerships with in-residence ensembles and community arts organizations.
• Support academic music programs, private lessons, and ensembles.
• Collaborate with college stakeholders to integrate programming with curriculum and initiatives.
• Engage donors, sponsors, and foundations to sustain and grow operations.
