City of Provo is hiring a part-time Arts Center Custodian to support the Covey Arts Center during the early-morning shift. This role focuses on cleaning, maintenance, and safeguarding City facilities while ensuring minimal disruption for occupants.

Competenze

• Clean, maintain, and sanitize City buildings, offices, restrooms, grounds, fixtures, and other designated areas.
• Sweep, mop, seal, wax, and polish floors; vacuum and shampoo carpets.
• Wash walls, woodwork, windows, doors, desks, ceilings, and other surface areas.
• Collect and dispose of waste including emptying garbage containers and replacing liners.
• Perform minor plumbing and electrical repairs including unstopping lavatories, replacing fluorescent tubes and ballasts, and similar assignments.

Provo City is hiring a part-time custodian to work the early-morning shift at the Covey Arts Center. Qualified, civic-minded individuals intersted in providing these services to Provo’s residents are encouraged to apply.

What is the compensation?

$12.00 - $18.00 per hour. (Day shift starts at $12.00 per hour. Night shift starts at $14.00 per hour)

What do I need to apply?

• Two years of experience in general custodial, building, and grounds maintenance OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience that would demonstrate an ability to perform the work [substituting each one year of post-secondary education/training for six months of experience].
• A valid, lawful Driver License is required.

What are the physical demands and environmental factors?

Requires physical strength and agility enough to perform the duties of the position, including frequent bending, stretching, reaching, assuming uncomfortable positions, walking, climbing, and moving objects; requires frequent lifting of objects weighing 20-25 lbs. and occasional lifting of objects weighing 25-50 lbs. Requires periodic exposure to adverse weather conditions, various cleaning agents, chemicals, and other caustic substances.

What is the selection process?

Applications will be reviewed in the order they are submitted, with the first screening being held one week from the posting date. Applicants mustmeet the minimum qualifications listed above to be eligible for consideration.

If selected for hire, candidate will be required to successfully pass a drug screen and criminal background check. Non-disclosure may result in dismissal. Applicants with unsatisfactory drug screen results will be ineligible for appointment or application to any Provo City position for a minimum period of six (6) months.
