We are a full-stack, publishing-first record label with a bold mission: to make professional music careers accessible without gatekeeping, gimmicks, or exploitation. Our artists are growing fast — and now we need passionate, organized, people-first managers to help guide them.

Role Overview

As an Artist Manager, you’ll serve as the direct point of contact for 1–3 artists, depending on your availability and experience. You will coordinate live gigs, build relationships with venues, help grow local presence, and manage basic logistics like sideman coordination and payment collection.

You’re not just a scheduler — you’re a trusted rep, problem-solver, and advocate for your artists.

Responsibilities

  1. Negotiate and confirm performance terms and payment in advance
  2. Coordinate additional musicians when needed (side players, rhythm sections, etc.)
  3. Submit concert programs and setlists for PRO reporting (ASCAP, BMI, etc.)
  4. Communicate directly with your artists about scheduling, availability, and progress
  5. Uphold brand standards, professionalism, and artist readiness
  6. Represent the artist’s best interest while following label policy and direction
  7. Track payments and submit reports to the label for royalty and gig management

Compensation

  1. 25% of gross gig revenue (collected from the venue or host)
  2. Up to 5% of merchandise commission (if managing table or closing sales)
  3. No salary or hourly pay — this is a revenue-share position for motivated self-starters
  4. Tips at gigs belong 100% to the performers

Requirements

  1. Strong communication and negotiation skills
  2. Reliable and organized — deadlines and clarity matter
  3. Experience with local music scenes or booking preferred, but not required
  4. Access to email, phone, and basic digital tools
  5. Willing to work independently and proactively
  6. Must sign a non-compete and NDA
  7. Exclusive to Velvet Midnight Records (no managing outside artists during contract)
