Job description

SFFILM's Artist Development Coordinator supports operational, administrative, financial, and programmatic components of the Artist Development Department. The coordinator is responsible for supporting the Artist Development team in work related to filmmaker granting, the SFFILM Residency program, and cross departmental collaborations including Education, Programming, and Communications. Under the direction of the Director of Artist Development, the Coordinator will help execute a variety of programmatic responsibilities, including the support of in-person events and coordination of Filmmaker communication.

This is an exciting opportunity to interact with and support Filmmakers at all stages of their careers through our robust slate of funding, education, and career development initiatives. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with a wide variety of constituents while still maintaining excellent organizational and customer service standards. An affinity for balancing self-motivated, independent work with collaborative team environments is essential for this role.

The preferred start date is Sept 28, 2026. This is a fulltime, hourly role with a salary range of $23 - $24 per hour. Benefits include full monthly premium with the organizations' health insurance policies, PTO/Sick Leave and expanded annual paid holiday schedule.

SFFILM currently supports a hybrid-remote schedule, with an average of 2-3 days per week in the San Francisco offices, as well as time onsite throughout the Bay Area supporting SFFILM events.

Application review will begin immediately Sept 16, 2026 and be rolling after that.

  • - Coordinate Artist Development grant application review panels and support administration of grant review process. This also includes recruitment of internal reviewers, and support planning and execution of review process timelines and logistics, including promotional follow-up and cross departmental program coordination.
  • - Track all program bookkeeping; process all grant, fellowship, professional fee payments, and reconcile income and payments with the Finance Team.
  • - Project-manage internal and filmmaker-facing Artist Development Department calendar.
  • - Support weekly department meetings by compiling agenda and taking minutes, recording action items, and following up via Basecamp.
  • - Manage Mobilize (SFFILM Makers message board) including general updates, FilmHouse calendar, promotion of events, filmmaker opportunities and answer questions posted in Mobilize.
  • - Maintain Department databases, including DonorPerfect and Filemaker.
  • - Check and respond to Artist Development general email accounts, providing factual information about Grants, Residencies, and Fellowships to enquiring filmmakers in a timely manner.
  • - Coordinate all of Artist Development's requests of the Communications Department via Basecamp and follow all internal protocols.
Experience/Skills Required:
  • - Highly organized and detail-oriented.
  • - Demonstrated experience project managing intersecting timelines.
  • - Strong verbal and written communication skills with a clear, gracious and professional manner.
  • - Ability to multitask, prioritize, exhibit consistent follow-through and work under time constraints.
  • - A genuine team-player who is excited about the opportunity to wear many hats.
  • - An eagerness to continue learning and staying up-to-date on Artist Development programs and supported filmmakers; interested in expanding skillset to become proficient in all systems and protocols for both Artist Development and across other divisions within SFFILM.
  • - Experience managing volunteers in person and remotely.
  • - Comfort learning new CRMs or POS systems.
  • - Excellent computer skills, including: Google Drive, Word, and Excel
  • - Experience with Basecamp, Good Grants and/or FileMaker a big plus
