Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Adjunct Instructor

Locations: California, Florida, Massachusetts, New Mexico. Remote work is permitted from California, New Mexico, Florida or Massachusetts. Campus locations: San Diego, CA and Albuquerque, NM. Reports to: Associate Dean - Cloud Administration Program. Status: Non-Exempt. Employment Type: Variable-Hour (Part-Time).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Teaching: Available to teach synchronous online courses via Microsoft Teams; plan and organize instruction to maximize student learning and engagement; modify instructional methods to meet diverse student needs; employ appropriate teaching strategies for a synchronous online format; current certifications in subjects taught.
• Mastery of Subject Matter: Demonstrate thorough knowledge of the field; connect subject matter to related fields; stay current through professional development and involvement in professional organizations.
• Adhering to College Policies and Procedures: Ensure student data is accurate; maintain compliance with accreditation and CIAT policies; promote collaboration with staff and participate in new projects; adhere to business casual attire as per the Employee Handbook.

Qualifications

• Information Technology Instructors must provide official transcripts of bachelor’s (or higher) degree and active/current certification on the subject being taught.
• General Education Instructors must provide official transcripts of bachelor’s and master’s (or higher) degrees that include at least 18 units on the subject being taught.
• At least three years’ experience in the respective field OR two years of teaching experience.
• Advanced subject matter expertise preferred in Python programming and data science libraries (NumPy, Pandas, Matplotlib, Scikit-learn), AI/ML fundamentals, and familiarity with Azure AI services or other cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud).
• Synchronous online teaching experience preferred.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision; ability to multitask; problem-solving with a sense of urgency; collaborative work style; and commitment to inclusive learning environments.

Position Details

• This is a variable-hour position with days/hours usually Monday through Friday; weekend and evening hours may be required. Live classes are scheduled twice a week (Monday and Tuesday) from 6:00pm–9:30pm (Pacific Time).
• All further duties may be assigned as needed.

Payments

Pay Range: $38 - $43 USD
