We're looking for a charismatic hands-on Senior Advisor to lead groundbreaking initiatives in advanced data through artificial intelligence solutions. Supporting the NIH ASTO, you'll design and build state-of-the-art Data & AI solutions that drive organizational transformation. We take cutting-edge technologies, turn them into prototypes, and operationalize scalable solutions. This role involves strategic, hands-on work, collaborating with leaders, stakeholders, and technical teams to shape future technology at NIH.

This role is fully remote!

HOW AN AI DATA SCIENTIST WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

• Idealize, design, and develop advanced prototypes for AI and data solutions
• Innovate in fields like Generative AI, Knowledge Graphs, Data Fabrics, Chat Bots, Multimodal AI, LLMs, and Predictive Analytics
• Transition prototypes to scalable solutions and operational teams
• Stay updated with emerging technology trends
• Provide thought leadership to NIH leadership and stakeholders
• Partner with government technology leaders
• Lead diverse teams in designing, building, and deploying solutions

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

Required Skills & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree and 15+ years of related experience (or equivalent)
• Expertise in designing and deploying Data Solutions with emergent technologies
• 10+ years in Data Fabrics, Knowledge Graphs, or Graphs
• 5+ years with Data Fabrics on Azure, AWS, or Databricks
• Experience in AI solutions, Generative AI, Machine Learning, NLP, LLMs
• 7+ years developing prototypes and transitioning to scale
• 7+ years in cloud platforms (Azure and/or AWS)
• Data capability experience with relevant certifications or degrees
• AWS Certified Machine Learning - Specialty and/or Azure AI Engineer Associate

Preferred Skills & Experience:

• PhD in Computer Science, AI, or related field
• Additional certifications (e.g., Solutions Architect, DevOps)
• Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Delta Lakes, Knowledge Graphs, Ontologies
• Experience with Conversational AI, Agentic AI, Chat Bots, Multimodal AI
• Model fine-tuning and optimization experience
• Proven ability to scale Data & AI solutions
