About the Job:
SummiTech Consulting (STC) is seeking an experienced Data Scientist to join our high-performing team. Our employees help our clients maximize the value of their data. In this role, you will work to implement the full spectrum of data science — from data querying and wrangling to visualization and dashboarding for business intelligence (BI), to predictive analytics, machine learning, and artificial intelligence.
You will support clients in defining their information strategy, architecture, and governance, enabling business insights, reducing costs and complexity, increasing trust and integrity, and improving overall operational effectiveness.

This is a high-visibility role requiring expertise in developing, building, and maintaining data assets while managing teams and client relationships. You will confidently discuss data products, methodologies, industry trends, and challenges, proactively contributing to business development and adapting to a dynamic and evolving landscape.

Responsibilities:
• Perform data querying, wrangling, and analysis on complex datasets, developing visualizations and BI dashboards to communicate actionable insights effectively using systems like Tableau, Power BI, and Qlik.
• Build and maintain data assets, data manipulation, and documenting techniques for data preparation and normalization to ensure repeatability and accessibility.
• Apply advanced analytics and multidisciplinary statistical models to derive insights from unstructured, semi-structured, and structured data, supporting federal and commercial R&D and IT objectives.
• Coordinate and lead internal team actions to meet project and client goals, consult with clients and interface with Subject Matter Experts to design, develop, validate, and deploy high-confidence data science solutions.
• Design and implement predictive models, machine learning algorithms, and AI-driven tools tailored to client needs, ensuring compliance with federal regulations like FAR and NIH guidelines.
• Develop and deploy data science solutions for commercial enterprises, addressing their unique requirements and industry-specific challenges.
• Leverage strong analytical and research skills to guide client and team decision-making, exploring innovative solutions that challenge critical thinking and align with mission requirements.
• Engage in client relationship management and business development, producing high-quality, client-ready deliverables and fostering collaboration across stakeholders.

Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Mathematics, or a related field (Master’s is but not required).
• At least 3+ years of experience as a Data Scientist or in a similar role, ideally in a consulting or federal government contracting environment.
• Experience cleaning, manipulating, and pre-processing data using Python, SQL, R, or Tableau Prep Builder.
• Experience developing reports and dashboards for business intelligence, utilizing data visualization tools such as MS Power BI, Tableau, and Qlik.
• Familiarity with machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn).
• Knowledge of big data platforms (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) is a plus.

Nice to have:
• Tableau Desktop Certification: Certified Professional, Certified Associate, Specialist. Tableau Server Certification: Certified Professional, Certified Associate.
• Proficiency querying data in SQL.
• Experience performing data science/analytics, such as statistical modeling, predictive analysis, or machine learning using Python or R.
• Experience with MS Forms and Power Automate.
• Ability to support clients in identifying and addressing needs, building relationships, and driving solutions forward, with experience leading small teams.

Salary & Benefits:
• This is a 100% remote position.
• The salary range for this position is $120,000 - $150,000, depending on experience and location.
• Highly competitive benefits package, covering up to 60% of employee and dependent costs.
