About The Role

GDIT is seeking a hands-on Senior AI Data Scientist to join our team supporting the NIH Administrative Systems Technology Officer (ASTO). As part of this role, you will design, develop, and implement AI and data solutions to drive large-scale organizational transformation at the NIH. This fully remote position offers an exciting opportunity to work with emerging technologies in fields like Generative AI, Knowledge Graphs, Predictive Analytics, and more. You will lead innovative initiatives, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and guide the transition of prototypes into scalable, operational solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop advanced AI and data solutions using emerging technologies.
• Innovate in areas such as Generative AI, Knowledge Graphs, Predictive Analytics, and Intelligent Search.
• Transition from prototypes to scalable solutions and ensure successful implementation.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging trends in AI, machine learning, and data analytics.
• Provide thought leadership and collaborate with government technology leaders to shape the future of technology at NIH.
• Lead diverse teams to deploy AI-driven solutions and optimize NIH systems.
  
  

Qualifications

Required Skills & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree and 15+ years of related experience, or equivalent education/experience.
• Expertise in designing and deploying data solutions using emerging technologies.
• 10+ years of experience with Data Fabrics, Knowledge Graphs, or Graphs.
• 5+ years of experience with Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Databricks.
• Proven expertise in AI, including Generative AI, Machine Learning, NLP, and Intelligent Search.
• 7+ years of experience in transitioning prototypes to operational solutions.
• 7+ years of cloud experience (Microsoft Azure or AWS).
• AWS Certified Data Analytics – Specialty, AWS Certified Big Data – Specialty, or equivalent certifications.
• Must be able to obtain a Level 5 Public Trust clearance.
  
  

Preferred Skills & Experience

• PhD in Computer Science, AI, or related field.
• Certifications in AWS Certified Solution Architect – Professional, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or Azure DevOps Engineer Expert.
• Experience with Microsoft Fabric and Delta Lakes on Azure.
• Experience with Conversational AI, Chat Bots, or Predictive Analytics.
  
  

Salary Range

The likely salary range for this position is $146,536 - $184,000, depending on experience, geographic location, and contractual requirements.
