The ideal candidate has 5+ years of heavy equipment experience, a valid license, and a strong focus on safety and operational reliability in demanding, high-traffic environments.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience operating articulated haul trucks or similar heavy equipment.
• Valid driver's license (CDL may be required depending on state/site requirements).
• Knowledge of haul road safety practices and traffic control on active construction/mine sites.
• Ability to read grade stakes, site maps, and basic haul plans.
• Willingness to work extended hours, early mornings, or weekends as project schedules require.
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and background check.

Responsibilities

• Operate articulated haul trucks to transport soil, rock, aggregate, and other bulk materials across rough, uneven terrain.
• Load, haul, and dump materials in coordination with excavators, loaders, and dozers.
• Conduct pre-shift and post-shift inspections; complete daily inspection checklists and report mechanical issues promptly.
• Navigate haul roads safely, adjusting for weather, grade, visibility, and site traffic conditions.
• Maintain safe following distances and communicate via radio with spotters, ground crew, and other operators.
• Follow site-specific traffic patterns and haul road protocols.
• Monitor payload weights to avoid overloading and ensure efficient hauling cycles.
• Perform basic maintenance tasks (greasing, fluid checks, tire inspections) as needed.
• Adhere to OSHA and company safety regulations and participate in toolbox talks.
