Job summary

The Illinois Association of School Administrators seeks an Art Therapist/School Counselor to provide counseling and therapeutic services to students with disabilities within the Perandoe Educational Program. The role uses art-based strategies to support emotional regulation and behavior while aligning with IEP goals.

Qualifications

• Requires a current and valid PEL with a School Counselor endorsement and a Master’s Degree in School Counseling, Art Therapy, or a related field.
• Art Therapy credentials (ATR or ATR-BC) and/or Illinois clinical licensure (LCPC, LCSW) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and small-group counseling and therapeutic services aligned with IEPs.
• Utilize art-based therapeutic strategies to support emotional regulation, communication, and behavioral needs.
• Develop and monitor IEP goals related to social-emotional and behavioral functioning.
• Participate in IEP meetings, re‑evaluations, annual reviews, and progress monitoring.
• Collaborate with teachers, paraprofessionals, school psychologists, and related service providers.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including service logs and progress reports.
