Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree is required.

• Urban teaching experience with a record of high student achievement is required.
• Knowledge of art and design concepts across media and art history.
• Broad range of knowledge in mediums including drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture, collage, design and construction.

Responsibilities

• Create a rigorous, objective-driven arts program aligned to state standards.
• Use technology tools for instruction, planning, and communication to keep students engaged.
• Eagerly learn new uses and applications of technology tools.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to create interdisciplinary units through the arts.
• Promote student self-expression and exploration while deepening knowledge in art, design, and art history.
• Incorporate art history in engaging, meaningful ways tied to objectives.
• Measure student achievement using formative and summative assessments.
• Provide timely feedback to students on progress toward goals.
• Communicate effectively and maintain strong relationships with students, families, colleagues and administrators.
• Assist students in developing, maintaining, and evaluating portfolios.

Education

Bachelor's degree
